Each team must take a position to approach this topic. Some will find articles that support SHARK FINNING (pros) and other will find articles in internet to defend sharks and be against (cons) it.

You need to find arguments in pro or against SHARK FINNING, supporting the position selected or assigned. Make sure you have the source (WEB SITE) where you found the information you are going to present. WEB SITES ONLY IN ENGLISH.

2) Complete the mind map about GHOST FISHING we started in class. You will need that information to complete an INDIVIDUAL task (tarea) on line.

FIRST PARTIAL TEST RESULTS

The results for the FIRST PARTIAL TEST will be delivered to your mail this coming week. If you have problems with the grades, please contact me in my office.

Remember the Yahoo Group Vocabulary practice already started!!! Join the group and start interacting to learn more vocabulary. The words posted must be related,
in the case of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, to PUMPS AND CAVITATION
in the case of FISHERY ENGINEERING, to GHOST FISHING.

UNA VEZ HAYAS ENTRADO EN EL AULA VIRTUAL, ASEGURATE DE CAMBIAR TU CONTRASEÑA, PARA HACER TU ACCESO MAS SEGURO.

TAMBIEN TE SUGIERO CONFIGURAR UN SOLO CORREO COMO CORREO PREDETEMINADO DEL AULA VIRTUAL Y DEL GRUPO YAHOO, ASI ESTARAS USANDO UNA SOLA CUENTA PARA EL CHEQUEO DE LAS ACTIVIDADES DE INGLES 2.


Hi every1,
If you are having problems entering the ADI site (VLE or "aula virtual") please keep in mind that:
1. First, you need to fill in an application and register your username and a password.
If the system rejects the password or username you are using, try using a different account or modify your username. For example, if you are entering marialugo (try to use only 1 word), enter marialugoc.
2. The system WILL NOT SEND YOU A CONFIRMATION. Confirmation is being manually done every 12 hours. So.... after you register, try entering again in 15 or 24 hours after your registration, to validate it.

Until this afternoon (Nov 20), every registration that was made, was already validated.

3. Sometimes the platform where the VLE is hosted is just SLOW. Be patient and try again...

This week the FIRST PARTIAL TEST will be administered.

Remember to

1. Bring your Readings Selection and a Dictionary TO THE PARTIAL TEST.
2. Check on the VLE (aula virtual) the summaries for all the face to face sessions, as well as the Workshops (talleres), keys to tests and browse the materials uploaded.

The ENSAYO 1 will be submitted through the VLE (ADI) this FRIDAY NOV. 24.

LAST OPPORTUNITY> IF YOU MISSED THE QUIZ 1, YOU CAN TAKE IT THIS MONDAY 20 AT 2PM, AT THE ENGLISH LAB.

Test Nov 13 to Nov 17

Remember this week you will take a written test. You will need your Readings Selection (Modulo) and a Dictionary.

Before the test, we will be completing a related activity.

Send confirmation if you received the invitation sent to join the Yahoo Group!! There you will find the pictures taken in class!!. Once you accept the invitation, you will be a member of the Yahoo Group and enter the site.

A test will be administered this week (from Nov 13 to 18, 2006) . Test content will be: Inference, Prediction, Use of Context and Clues, Identifying Communicative Functions (Definition, description, examples , analysis and comparison & contrast).

Confirmar por favor si recibiste la invitación enviada para formar parte del Grupo Yahoo!! Allí están colocadas las fotos de cada uno de los grupos. Una vez aceptes al invitación, podrás ingresar al Grupo Yahoo.

Esta semana (del 13 al 18 de noviembre 2006) se realizará un quiz individual. Los temas a evaluar serán: Inferencia, Prediccción, Uso de Claves Contextuales, Identificación de Estructuras y Funciones Comunicativas (definición, descripción, ejemplificación, análisis y comparación y contraste).

Ensayo 1

Este trabajo es GRUPAL (máximo 3 personas), se realizará un ensayo basado en la Lectura N 3 (Ing. Mecánica, p.p. 10-17) y en la Lectura N 1 (Ing. Pesquera, p.p. 2-6).

¿En que consiste el Ensayo?
En primer lugar, el grupo debe determinar el tema de la lectura y comprender el tema desarrollado en el mismo. Una vez cumplido este paso, el grupo debe transferir lo tratado aquí a la aplicación como solución a un problema puntual local, regional o nacional. Pueden usar refrencias externas (preferiblemente en inglés) al suministrado en el modulo.

El Ensayo NO ES una traducción del tema. Por el contrario, una vez determinado el tema, el grupo debe utilizar sus conocimientos acerca de ese tema (bien sea conocimientos previos o logrados mediante la investigación) para A PARTIR DE ALLI, construir una solución a un problema o situación real del entorno local, regional o nacional.

Entrega del Ensayo:
Extensión del Ensayo: 2-3 páginas.
El grupo debe estar bien identificado (nombres, Programa y num de sección).
El envío se realizará subiendo el archivo al aula virtual
Fecha tope de entrega: 24-11-2006.

Aprender un idioma? O sobrevivir al aprendizaje?

Mi experiencia con el idioma inglés
Cuando comenzamos a aprender un idioma nuevo, las primeras experiencias marcan el camino del aprendizaje haciéndolo más fácil o tornandolo en dificilmente "tenebroso". Haber tenido una buena iniciación cuando comenzamos a exponernos al idioma, define la inclinación que posteriormente decidamos tener hacia el idioma, haciendonos abiertos o cerrados al mismo. Es siempre importante tener una motivación para aprenderlo, ya que esto hace indiscutiblemente más grato y fácil el camino. ¿Cuál es tu motivación? ¿Es "fácil" para tí aprender inglés? ¿A qué crees tú se debe esa inclinación o rechazo hacia le idioma?
